Victorian Morning Wedding
Before the 1880s, a couple was required by law to have a morning ceremony. By the late 1880s, permissible hours were extended until 3:00 p.m. In the Eastern United States, the fashionable hours were between 10:00 a.m. and noon because it was an English custom. You have seen Lady Mary wed Matthew in a morning wedding on the hit series “Downton Abbey.” In New York in 1890, half past three was also a fashionable hour. Southern American weddings, however, were almost always at 6:00 p.m. because it was cooler then.

Front Parlor Wedding
The front parlor of The Henry Blosser House is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding that includes a small group of family and friends. We can accommodate up to 20 guests as they watch the Bride descend the staircase.

Classic Porch Wedding
The iconic Blosser two-tiered porch is the ultimate wedding pavilion. A porch wedding can be a small, intimate ceremony for a few family or friends; or a grand event hosting up to 250 guests with yard seating and reception tents. The bride may descend the interior grand staircase and proceed through the front doorway.
